Present Simple Tense

Positive Sentences

  2. My great mother cooks delicious and tasty food. (Simple Sentence)
  3. People select their Prime Minister after every five years. (Simple Sentence)

Negative Sentences

  1. [The cottage of a poor man] is not impressive. (Subject Noun Phrase with negative auxiliary)
  2. The sons and daughters of a rich man with a high attitude do not attend my English course. (Negative auxiliary verb)
  3. I don’t know the story that was told. (Contracted negative)

Question Sentences

  1. Who attends international training sessions? (Wh question word)
  2. What is a good birthday gift for my mother? (Wh question word)
  3. Do students enjoy attending your English course? (Auxiliary verb question)

Negative and Question Sentences Mutually

  1. Doesn’t Mr. Sajjad teach other subjects? (Negative auxiliary verb question)

Past Simple Tense

Positive Sentences

  1. The man with a gun entered the room last night. (Past tense verb with time adverbial)
  2. I woke up during the night because of a bad dream. (Past tense verb with time adverbial)
  3. People selected their Prime Minister in 2023. (Past tense verb with time phrase)

Negative Sentences

  1. I didn’t understand the story that was told last night. (Past tense auxiliary verb with negative)
  2. The guests did not come when I was seeking a job. (Past tense verb with negative)
  3. They didn’t replace the whiteboard yesterday. (Past tense verb with negative)

Question Sentences

  1. When did Mr. Sajjad start attending international training sessions? (Wh question word about time)
